Gulf States Engineering, Inc. seeks a Tennessee Registered Land Surveyor

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate dailyfunctions of a one- two-or three-person survey crews
  • Ability to calculate and  resolve boundaries based on available documentation.
  • Experience with boundary, topographic, hydrographic and ALTA surveys as well as the ability to calculate points for construction layout.
  • Execute Boundary and Topographic surveys, as-built surveys and construction staking and layout.
  • Knowledge of surveying technology and equipment including GPS, Total Stations, data collection devices, and 3d Scanners.
  • Ensure quality of standards and completeness of all data based on direction and research.
  • Conduct survey data collection and provide interpretation as needed to assist field crews.
  • Maintain industry and state technical standards based on project type.
  • Maintain safe working conditions for all crew members.
  • Directly responsible for direction and actions of field crews.

Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • Must have a current License in good standing to Practice Land Surveying in Tennessee.
  • GSE requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent. An associate or bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
  • 10 years experience with various types of land surveying projects with a minimum of 5+ years experience in managing survey crews.
  • Possess knowledge of principals and practice of land surveying with an understanding of legal principals.
  • Must possess strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Must possess strong mathematical, boundary, topographic, and construction layout knowledge.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Flexible schedule.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Must have min. 3 years working experience with processing and utilizing Civil 3D for survey drafting.

Salary and Compensation:

Compensation will be determined on level of experience. This position will include opportunities for performance bonuses.
